Gavin Williamson insisting he’s going to deliver the best education system in the world *is* Brexit Britain: alarming mediocrity claiming it’s something special, in a world that stopped taking it seriously years ago.

I’m with Nicholas Soames on the people of Cornwall now demanding the EU’s £700m after voting to leave. ‘They can f—- off in my view,’ he says.’The skies are dark with chickens coming home to roost.’ The people of Cornwall shouldn’t have been so bloody stupid when they cast their votes.

We need more people in politics who’ve already achieved good satisfying lives outside of politics. We need fewer of the inadequates we have now who act not in the interests of the public, but simply out of fear of losing the £80k MP’s salary, the expenses, perks and lifestyle.

I can't see Dominic Cummings without remembering that he retrospectively edited his blog to make it look like he predicted the pandemic. Any claim ever made about his abilities or achievements should be refracted through the knowledge that he is a laughably vain cheat.

The FT tomorrow. Hardly a paper traditionally ill-disposed to the Tories. I can’t see how the party can stick by a man getting reviews this bad much longer. His election by members was a colossal and historic error of judgment.

Last year, a Conservative govt shut down Parliament to stifle dissent. It expelled 21 dissenting MPs, while threatening to axe Channel 4's licence & defund the BBC. Tabloids urge ministers to "crush the saboteurs". Intolerance of dissent is not unique to "the progressive left".

Quite right, Health Secretary. Nothing worse than suppressing free speech by blocking media outlets. ps It’s been 130 days since you & your Govt colleagues started boycotting Good Morning Britain.

Sadly we are witnessing a prime minister who has gone through life with delusions of grandeur and is now daily exposed as having delusions of competence

For no particular reason, I am retweeting a speech I delivered as Lord Chancellor in July 2019. On the rule of law, the importance of institutions like the judiciary and the civil service, and the dangers of populism. gov.uk/government/spe…

Astounded to hear the Northern Ireland Secretary calmly confirm the UK Government’s plans do break international law. The rule of law keeps us safe, defends our national interest, and allows us to hold others to account. They are diminishing us on the world stage

rachel Bill Esterson To sum up, while there were critical PPE shortages... - NHS workers were dying due to COVID exposure. - British companies were offering to manufacture PPE at cost price. - Our govt made them jump through hoops, then gave £100m PPE contracts to their mates. This is corruption.

Mark Byron François is an absolute joke. But he is also the very essence Brexit. Strutting ignorance blaming everyone but himself for his own inadequacy. We laugh at him. But he represents what this govt claims our country chose. And what a choice that’s turning out to be.

Gary Lineker If there were these thousands of fake tickets I presume that they were confiscated from fans to avoid them being attempted to be used multiple times. If so where are they?

Tim Walker Currently reading Gavin Barwell's book, "Chief of Staff". It's terrifying reading when you discover Brexit was negotiated on the whims of Barclay,Raab, Leadsom,Duncan Smith,Fox & Co inflicting their own personal demands on the proceedings. It was never done in our best interests

Tim Walker Really? Are you?? Many resident non-Brits know why it happens but most Brits can’t see it. Your culture, cradle to grave, is riven with class structural norms, from admiring Latin-speakers to assuming “gentlemen” can’t be crooks. And your media is unregulated and owned by them.

Yeah because it’s definitely in my interest to get paid ~£16 per hour and rotate every 4/6 months resulting in a 2hr commute each way... What a fucking tool Wes Streeting really is.
