Why are Residential Main Roads not seen as ‘neighbourhood’ or residential roads by Council? Are we not part of the neighbourhood? Main road residents matter.

70% of Hackney’s roads is closed to motor traffic by LTNs. As a result, even during the summer holiday residential Graham Rd (A1207) is congested most of the day, every day. Mayor of Hackney & Hackney Council ignore its residents. We don’t matter to them 😢 👇23/8/24 at 12pm

Better Streets West Dulwich You can either support traffic reduction and road safety on all roads, or you can support LTNs. You do the latter.

Sir Michael Marmot Kevin Fenton Jeff Smith on Air Pollution (BreatheLife2030.org) Dr Kat Alcock Visit Camberwell #AnalyseTrafficOrigin With #ANPR The Fox 👤 John Stewart Clair Shimano Steve Evan Driscoll They chose to increase air pollution for those most at risk, in order to reduce traffic on the roads of those most responsible. Five years later, they're driving even more miles and congestion/pollution on community roads & bus routes is worse than ever. x.com/LittleNinjaUK/…

So after years of Lambeth Labour (((Rezina))) 🌹🐝 Claire Holland lecturing us on how LTNs tackle climate change, reduce overall pollution etc, Better Streets West Dulwich confirms what we already knew ie that LTN activists are only really concerned about the streets THEY live on.

Bob From Accounts 🚲 Hackney isn’t inundated with cars. Car miles driven have been coming down for decades. LTN road closures have caused motorised traffic to be funnelled to a just a few, highly residential, roads causing unprecedented congestion (and pollution). Pipe dreams are no solution.

The most heavily residential section of Dalston Ln has been left like this👇during the 3 week closure of Graham Rd. No opening of the former thru route (RICHmond Rd) & seemingly no changes to light timings. Who is responsible for this chaos? Sarah J Young Mayor of Hackney

If LTNs are about health they should implemented for the busiest roads where asthma rates are highest. Wealthy side street residents would complain about their added traffic but it’s mainly self-generated. Living with the consequence might force behaviour change. Social Environmental Justice
