This is the response from LAS about the junction in Dulwich Village.

LAS didn't meet with Southwark until 1 Feb, *after* the consultation closed on 17 Jan.

Local residents had no idea that the LAS forced Southwark to make this a trial.

A trial closure that will cost £1.5m.

The loss of 7 parking spaces outside the shops in DV is significant. Southwark also has moved and reduced disabled parking bays too. Shops here have reduced opening hours, or have had to close. Southwark has ignored businesses who have asked for support.

- The ES forced Southwark into making this a trial closure instead of a permanent change.

When the new plan for the junction was released, we pointed out that emergency services would have to take a longer route to access Calton Ave from Dulwich Village or to access Dulwich Village from Calton Ave.

In north Southwark some playgrounds are run down & there is far greater social need. We need less interference of this sort in Dulwich. In reality, LTNs have increased congestion, vehicle miles and harmful emissions CO2, NO2 & PM2.5.
