Many advocates are arguing pollution is no longer an issue due to improving tech, but the reality is more complex, with increasing presence of HGVs and LGVs, and increasing main road congestion forcing these vehicles to idle more.

We need to see the big picture.

Since the UK sources from the EU, this affects our food supply.

Our UK policy goal of , in which most citizens order 100% of goods & services without getting up from the sofa, encourages the warehouse retail which is the natural partner of industrial agriculture.

As we found out in South London, even when M&S consults over leaving Walworth Road, a council is still not prepared to engage with them over what policies would encourage them to stay.

As a result, the heart will be ripped from WR. Walworth Society

Time to demolish this house, just to set a precedent. And rebuild it, but with the door entrance adjusted a yard or two to the right.

This also accords with London council practices of demolishing properties where there is a property attribute that would not pass new-build regs!

Provisional figures show a decline of 2.9% during 2023, and an increase of just 2% since 2019. Meanwhile driving is back to 99% of pre-pandemic levels.

Every second counts - a terrible legacy of how we skimp on road repair standards in order to maximise subsidies for motorists.

The least we can do is ensure that we do not introduce traffic schemes which systematically introduce delays to emergency services responses.

Regional road โ€œimprovementsโ€ (more lanes, road additions) occur primarily due to rising car ownership in cities. The link with disinvestment in public transport is clear to see.

The people most to blame are those who defend high CO in cities & say long car trips are unavoidable.

It is vital to understand that limiting protections to built form, rather than use, completely misses the point & underlying malaise. Yes those are needed.

But the eventual loss of features is built in as soon as the local authority fails to protect the original building use. 2/
