Communities are what make towns, cities and boroughs.
Protecting communities is a duty and recognising their realities is the first step in doing so.

Children's greatest exposure to traffic pollution is NOT at home on the side roads being closed for LTNs. It's as they walk, scoot, wait for buses and whilst at nursery, school on/near main roads. Traffic displaced by LTNs increases #airpollution for those already most at risk.

When LTNs create traffic congestion on surrounding roads they drastically increase #airpollution. Every acceleration of a stationary vehicle produces around 10x emissions and an idling vehicle produces almost 2x the exhaust emissions of a moving vehicle. 😨 #socialinjusticeofLTNs

A third of Londoners who live within 50m of a main road and all who walk, scoot, cycle, drive or are vehicle passengers on main roads, are exposed to higher #airpollution when #LTNs displace traffic from side to main roads. 😨 Hold my bag Sandra Reinton @seasonalight pandapoodle

Councils know an idling engine can produce this much #airpollution every minute 👇🏾 yet they're intentionally closing side roads & creating traffic congestion on residential roads. 😱 #socialinjusticeofLTNs Hold my bag Sandra Reinton pandapoodle Norman C Ediz Bea Gator

Fun fact: daily traffic levels in the back yards of Oxfordshire's LibDem leaders are often higher than the roads in Oxford they want to slap a congestion charge on. So when's Abingdon getting a congestion charge, Neil Fawcett 🏳️‍🌈🔶 ? Or Bicester?

Ah, #Cycleway1, the gift that just keeps on giving. Who thought it would be a good idea to have a blind turn with neither party having to give way? Perhaps TfL can tell us, seeing as how they funded this crap.

‘It’s the same claim he’s been making since at least 1992.’ James O’Brien runs through the times Netanyahu previously warned that Iran’s nuclear bomb was ‘imminent’.

The disruption occurred across the four-and-a-half months the LTN operated. Here's a report in the Times: archive.is/2023.12.08-174…. And one in the Evening Standard: standard.co.uk/news/transport….

There would have been no reason to suspend the LTN if delays were only due to emergency roadworks. The severe delays occurred for the duration the LTN was in operation, not before and not after.
