Given the sad news about Andrew Stunell, one of the warmest, kindest people I have ever met, I wanted to share some memories.
He was the kind of person you want on your team. Hard working, honest and kind.
He helped me work out what it was to make a difference in public life.

I've written to Ofwat urging them to reject Thames Water's proposal to increase bills by up to 44%.

There have been systemic failings at Thames Water, and it's time for the regulator and the Government to forcefully step in. Consumers can't be left to pay the price.

It's worth pointing out that councillors would not be allowed to do this.

In a council Cabinet meeting just last week, we were all asked whether we rented out property in the district before an item about regulating rented properties, and would have had to leave if we did.

Tackling climate change is the right thing to do and has market benefits.

In the dwindling days of a govt with no ideas, Sunak's rowing back on climate ambition may be another attempt at a wedge issue. Ultimately future generations will suffer from this short-sightedness.

Why should the public bail out Thames Water investors? They've taken plenty of profit over the years.

Yesterday I asked the Oxon Tory Group Leader to explain why someone he had (rightly) suspended for retweeting a Britain First tweet had then been allowed to join the Conservative & Independent Alliance group.

He chose to not answer the question.

I spent a fantastic afternoon at this local organic dairy farm. It was a privilege to learn more about organic, sustainable farming.

But I’m worried about the pressures on UK farming - climate, prices, and, above all, poor Govt support.🧵
