No excuses work. We have poverty, but not like dozens of countries above us with far fewer deaths. Population density? We're 32nd. Our health service is in the global top 20. We're an island. We had prior warning. The country wasn't in a civil war or fighting natural disasters.

There is no reason the UK couldn't have eliminated the virus as many other countries have. This narrative by the media, the govt, and their advisors of UK being somehow exceptional is false. The UK had all the resources it needed. It failed due to lack of political will.
