No trapping or netting without a license here in Spain. Never mind, just picked up from the road after Mrs Super Spotter noticed this. Spurge Hawkmoth.

An added benefit of making a new side gate. Sitting on a piece of recycled timber, a micro moth. Esperia sulphurella. What a little beauty.

For tonight's modification, I have safety pinned some eggboxes around the sides of the trap in hopes that retention might be a teeny bit higher.

This has certainly been a step-up from what I've been having recently - 7/7 with three wonderful NFYs - Pale Prominent (Pterostoma palpina), Flame Carpet (Xanthorhoe designata), and Least Black Arches (Nola confusalis)

Went to Chapel Woods by Quarry Bank, & happy to see my first Green Longhorn of the year! Can't wait for other Longhorn s to be out; Adelidae possibly my favourite family. Also saw another Common Oak Purple. I do love a shiny moth!

Phyllonorycter lautella emerged in the shed recently, from leaf-mines on seedling oaks collected at Parc Slip NR in the autumn. It wasn't very compliant and my photo doesn't do justice to its metallic splendour.

Scarce Prominent (Odontosia carmelita) Co. Donegal. Friday night was cold (car was covered in ice) so only a few moths, but several species I don't get at home, including this one, which always looks a little frosty. matter Ulster Wildlife BC Northern Ireland Butterfly Conservation πŸ¦‹

The lovely little micro-moth Incurvaria masculella, photo taken by my son because it was on my glasses where I couldn’t see it. Meanwhile my daughter explained the ID features of a Robin on our walk to school. Feel like their education is progressing well!
