The consultation is open to members of the public, and we've produced a short guide to be used by clinicians and patients who are keen to provide views.

How can an individual who is not medically qualified be doing invasive unsupervised procedures in the community. This is a danger to partients- no ifs or buts.

As a gastroenterologist, this is nothing short of horrifying. If anything goes wrong, and it can, not a leg to stand on. The cognitive part of endoscopy is the most important, it’s not just technical.

This is an outrage. We will be seeking advice on the possibility of a legal challenge. Either we’re all equal in law or we’re not. Either we believe in the rule of law or we don’t.

Opposing use of private sector for NHS treatment is not ideological but practical argument. Every £ taken from NHS to private medicine is a £ that could have been invested in expanding & improving NHS.
Diverting it builds permanent NHS dependence on private sector.

Oh wow, RCHT. Not only do you have a PA doing endoscopy, you have them doing independent unsupervised endoscopy in the community … and you printed them all over a van! At least you’re not shy about it, so I see no issues in posting it here.

Of the 12 'experts' guiding the GMC, there are 4 doctors.

There is also a PA & an AA.

If they make up such a tiny amount of HCPs why do they have such influential positions?

Esp since GMC still don't actually regulate associates
