Alison Moore Yep. Increasingly it seems to me the GMC is troubled and takes the easy cases. Surgeon in Manchester accused (now proven) of both sexual misconduct and harming patients, never even got to an investigation stage. But if he had asked to borrow a laptop...?

The idea Dr Sarah Benn could be struck off the medical register after taking part in a Just Stop Oil demonstration is very worrying. Her right to exercise peaceful protest - even if it leads to arrest - has nothing to do with her capacity to carry out her duties as a Dr. 🧵

This is completely out of order for GMC bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… if it fits the ‘rules’ the rules are wrong and must change. Government has hugely restricted the right to protest & there is no chance of this reducing public confidence, it’s a matter of conscience.

We have so many divisions in society I can help but think we ought to have a secular state and end religious schools. Speaking as someone who attended two religious schools.

The replacement is a key. I think we could do even better for doctors /dentists / nurses. Let’s be Frank, Care of many doctors verges on abysmal currently. Have we forgotten why this device developed. Doctors died. It was a reaction . We also now need prevention.

NHS Practitioner Health It’s ludicrous to suggest that frenetically pressured GP services with 10-minute consultations, can remotely be considered an alternative to the expert independent NHS Practitioner Health service that’s been a lifeline to tens thousands Drs enabling many to continue/return to work.

Message from government; ‘save money now on non essentials’, NHS England response ‘easy, cancel staff mental health services without a replacement, they’re expendable’. Tells you everything you need to know about the NHS as an employer. Crazy in such a hard pressed service.
