Where there are concerns raised, departments under question lead the investigations and essentially mark their own homework.

Fantastic point by Eilidh 🦀 today on the point of PAs. We need to talk about it being inappropriate for them to cover doctors’ *duties*, not be on doctors’ “rotas”. The powers that be just say “it’s not a rota” and call it by another name. Language is important! #JDConf24

What we might have is:
- a shortage of people willing to work in certain areas in certain hospitals (so make it less shit)
- potentially a national shortage of consultants (so make more training places especially at a higher level)
- less doctors per head = less ‘employed’…
