Lavina Fielding Anderson was excommunicated for publishing an article that documented ecclesiastical harm. She still faithfully attended her ward for the next 25+ years and in 2019 her local leaders requested approval for her rebaptism. The first presidency denied the request.

The The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS (Commentary) & its lawyers protect abusive people & behavior… because power, money, & reputation are more important than justice & the life of a 2yo child. If you are a murderer, rapist, pedophile, sexual predator, you are protected. Victims & survivors are a threat.

I think one of the reasons so many people are leaving the church rn is because leaders do not understand why people leave.🧵 My bishop in sacrament meeting recently talked about a couple who stopped coming and said, I can't imagine why anyone would not want to come to church.

Just FYI, more former Mormon bishops have been arrested for sex crimes against children in just the last year than trans people have in the entire history of Utah. But guess which one makes Mormon parents afraid

Hmm my stake can’t provide zoom links for sacrament mtg, but it can provide a zoom link for the patriotic fireside put on by the stake presidency member running for political office. 👀

My core beliefs have absolutely been shaped by many traumatic early childhood experiences… and I most definitely identify with many the core beliefs listed here- I’ll be working to fix these parts of me for the rest of my life.

You know what else is a “grievous sin?” Covering up #CSA, #silencing #survivors to protect the reputation of the #church and your #family, soliciting a #victims support when their #abuser requests to be rebaptized.

In what state is #racism, #bigotry, #misogyny, #patriarchy encouraged and funny… oh yeah, that would be #Utah. It is horrifying that these teenagers think that this is funny.

❗Trigger warning: child abuse You may remember my post detailing the abuse my family suffered at the hands of my father, then silenced by LDS church leaders. This news story is about my family. Abuse cover-ups in the church are real. It happened to me. cbs8.com/article/news/i…

Thinking about the guy who tried to say that Prop 8 efforts were by rogue members only and that leadership never directed any of it so I showed him this and he disappeared. Hope he’s doing okay.

People like me leave the church and don’t leave it alone, why? Because we know that people raised under certain conditions commit violence against the types of people their God, politicians, radio hosts, and MAGA family told them to never leave alone. Speaking at this. Come🏳️‍🌈

"Did nothing wrong." Of course not. Is it wrong to look at a child being raped and shrug? Is it wrong to hide behind lawyers and exemptions that allow you to do nothing? Is it wrong to look the other way while a man terrorizes his family for years with your full knowledge?
