Today marks 81 months since we lost 72 loved ones at Grenfell 💚. With the Phase 2 report due this summer, but government having not completed those from Phase 1 nearly 5 years ago, vulnerable people are sadly still no safer than on the 14th June 2017.

Abusive language such as this must not be tolerated, regardless of whether it is said in private or in public. With two MPs murdered in recent years, comments like this have a real impact on politicians and their loved ones and are totally unacceptable.

Frank Hester's comments about Diane Abbott are abhorrent. His comments highlight the appalling targeted abuse, rooted in sexism and racism, that black and ethnic minority women in politics receive on a daily basis.
