@medicalmodelwithabriochebun Tommy Two Tokes 🦀 #JoinVoteWin Wendy Burn CBE (She/her) Two cases in which I have been involved in which a non-dr did the initial MH assessment (requested urgently by me) and came to a different diagnostic conclusion than I did. Erroneously, with adverse clinical consequences for pts. PAs would have even LESS training. No thanks.

The arrests of corrupt politicians’ offspring genuinely make me dance. These spoiled brats, who’ve never worked a day in their lives, not only enjoy stolen wealth but also rob ordinary kids of the rare opportunities they deserve.

After over a year of delays, Sheffield Hospitals has finally admitted they don't know how often their Anaesthesia Associates (non-doctors administering anaesthesia) worked unsupervised: "We do not hold this specific information" Still refusing to disclose governance documents/SOPs.

I’ve seen an increase in PA job adverts where the GP triages Pts first . This is STILL inappropriate as the patients remain undifferentiated even if triaged by the GP There is NO ROLE for PAs in GP The PAs already in post should become assistants- not replacement GPs

The DoH are asking all NHS trusts to put up anti-BMA literature about resident doctors pay. Seriously?! This sort of union busting will only galvinise resident doctors more. Solidarity ✊

I condemn Iran for bombing 1 Israeli hospital I also condemn Israel for bombing 464 healthcare facilities in Gaza Thanks to this tweeter for helping me point that out.

As soon as the pay award was announced we wrote to the Secretary of State demanding negotiations; the DDRB changes have been ignored and the journey to pay restoration well and truly stalled. We've heard nothing. We want to talk but continued silence should inform your vote.

Valerie (Val) Humphreys Tony Turley Mrs C Jen Johnston Phil Smith The Leng review they see it as a "win/win" costs less to train or employ people more "warm bodies" into the workforce in shorter time less likely to be challenging easier to control for political ends yet fundamentally misunderstanding the nature of professional mastery in safety critical work

Sorry but as a rheumatologist there is no way I want a PA anywhere near my clinic in the assessment or management of patients. Then can scribe, dip the urine and take some bloods…

Quite! It’s astonishing nonsense. I reflect on this when I cross a large suspension bridge (thank you Engineers) or am on a plane ✈️ that lands in turbulence. (Thank you pilots) Medical training is not replaceable with other less intensive training.

We have lost three (that I know of!) orthopaedic surgeons to Australia from our region. Two of them stayed after their fellowships, one moved after 5 years of being overworked by the NHS for low pay. They studied medicine and trained as surgeon in the UK. Such a loss.

Nick Robinson who is shouting at this #NHS Consultant that he's paid with "our listeners' money" is paid a cool £345,000 from licence fee payers' money. I wonder what Robinson's productivity looks like? #r4today BBC Radio 4 Today #BMA #NHS

The irony of a right wing BBC presenter, who is paid more than NHS consultants from public money, giving a representative of NHS consultants a hard time over pay from public money. BBC Radio 4 Today Nick Robinson Who is more deserving?

You don’t get doctors pretending to be speech therapists, nurses or physios or pharmacists? So why is it okay the other way round

Well done to the PA & the employing practice who put a 35 year old on steroids for ‘PMR’. Did absolute wonders for her T1 diabetes.

Salary reflects responsibility, years of training, and the delivery of an excellent service. In the UK, it’s simply not competitive compared to other developed countries. So yes—it’s a bad salary. And yes—we know our worth.

The Anaesthesia Associate role must end . Patients deserve to be anaesthetised by an anaesthetist . As an NHS patient , it isn’t controversial to say this . It’s what I expect . It’s a crime that patients aren’t told that they might NOT be anaesthetised by a doctor .

Late to the see this. It makes me profoundly profoundly sad. We're being sold discount doctors, to be upskilled piecemeal on the job, as replacements *purely to "fix" the issues with hyper rotational training* youtu.be/VQjrDFIvvg8

A register ONLY for doctors to ensure that the public are clear on the qualifications of the person delivering their medical care - imagine! The GMC are not fit for purpose & no longer engage with concerns from Drs or pts. Enough is enough. Sign up below 👇🏻
