📣It’s Finds Friday! Today we are featuring a lithograph which was submitted to the Antiquaries Journal in 1928 by Dr T Armstrong Bowes. It shows a ficron handaxe which measures 285mm, making it one of the biggest found in Britain.

The 'Rusland Menhir', an standing stone outlier in the southern Lake District 🤩. With no other visible archaeology around, its age remains a mystery. However, there is a small mound / cairn underneath it, suggesting it may be prehistoric #archaeology #travel #lakedistrict
