Some media outlets are reporting on our study saying "Most patients with Long Covid have recovered after 3 years" No! Not accurate. Even people with mild COVID were still having new health problems 3 years after infection rdcu.be/dJq1L 🧵x.com/zalaly/status/…

2/ Although the proportion of people with self-reported 100% recovery was similar for those in the fluvoxamine group and those in the placebo group, trial participants who took placebo were about twice as likely to report they were less than 60% recovered at follow-up.

This is a pretty big deal: a huge team of researchers found a gene associated with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome! Up to now, other kinds of EDS have been associated with genetic mutations, but not #hEDS, the most common kind of EDS. (1/3) researchsquare.com/article/rs-454…

Sarah O'Connell This is the US criteria. Per criteria (C), neurologists should not dx FND when the symptoms can be explained by Long Covid. Part of the problem is that viral-induced movement disorders have very limited biological research so the default with most movement disorders is FND.

tern This article discusses PASC research, which finds ~27% of people with long Covid experience depersonalization (what you describe above) or derealization (a sense that one’s surroundings or external experiences are unreal). neuro.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/ap…

Per the The New York Times President Biden is dropping out of the 2024 Presidential race. Whoever will replace him MUST address the crisis of Long Covid. Vice President Kamala Harris must articulate a clear plan on how she intends to address this crisis. You must earn our vote!

Did he just say what I think he said? Yes, Professor. SARS-CoV-2 is a vascular 💣. Those of you with huge platforms MUST spread the word. Doesn’t the public deserve informed consent before reinfecting themselves repeatedly with a thromboembolic virus?
