Saw a curlew driving my daughter to school across Nidderdale this morning. That shouldn’t be remarkable but it is due to the massive decline in numbers

This is the best news I’ve seen in ages! So many people worked so hard for so long to make this happen, from public servants offering frank and fearless (and ignored) advice to grassroots activists to national organisations. On behalf of the eastern curlews, thankyou all 🎉

Just counted about 5 different fields, got over 50 curlew. Judging by what I am seeing both on the ground and in the air and the overall noise they are making this year I am convinced our curlew numbers are increasing. Let’s hope I am right and if so, this trend continues.
