Have to say, in all my long life of following Scottish politics, I have never seen a political and media class who are so totally out of touch with reality, normal people and what’s actually going on. I imagine this is how it feels before revolutions happen.

Good intentions by Labour - let’s hope they can deliver

This is the issue: farmers only receive some 5% of the value of the food chain, but shoulder almost all the (escalating) risk & frequently lose money whilst other players increase their margins & make billions in profit.

It’s unsustainable.

Hopefully this will mean pragmatism takes over from the blinkered ideology we have seen recently and we can all work together to deliver for people, jobs and nature in rural Scotland.

And our members are keen to do even more #wellbeingeconomy

Prior to tonight’s Cross Party Group on Scotland’s Wellbeing Economy and Land Reform, SLE are highlighting some key findings from the Wellbeing Economy Research.

It shows what can be done if the will is there. Local communities will need to be supported financially through the process whilst the local economy changes.

This is everything that’s wrong with the current politics in Scotland. Every Govt MSP is whipped to vote with the party and none (few) vote independently or with their conscience or do the right thing. History will not reflect kindly on this decision.

Landowners,land managers & farmers all need to work together with NatureScot & they in turn need to work with us to deliver a sustainable, biodiverse, wildlife abundant future for our children. Climate change has aligned many of our goals but we all need the money to deliver it.
