Very interesting observation from Taunton this evening as it appears something landed on the roof of the nest scrape. The falcon is alerted but not worried enough to leave the chicks. Second video with sound. Sadly camera zoomed in at the time so roof not visible at the time.

Made the short trip to #holyfordwoods Wild East Devon today. What a beautiful reserve with a stunning carpet of garlic plus the bluebells, stitchwort, red campion, celandine, orchids and ferns. Just cannot believe it was our first visit but there will be others. 😀

Beach sunset in South Devon last week. Such an amazing evening. The low tide was just perfect exposing the wet sand.

Canon UK and Ireland

This is reason why I find the Canon UK and Ireland R7 such an annoying camera for wildlife subjects. It will take amazing images but sometimes when it needs to perform perfectly it just doesn't!

Focused locked on the foal but the autofocusing would not work. ☹️ needed a manual nudge.

The moment when a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker lands a few feet away and plays hide and seek for a couple of minutes before coming out into the open. 😀

A singing Corn Bunting seen near Stonehenge this morning.

Seemed to be a morning when all the birds were making some sort of noise, including Stone Curlews, Chiffchaff, Skylarks, Pipits, Blackcaps and mores.

What a moment on Dartmoor National Park this afternoon.

Just standing still watching the world go by when I noticed a small bird land next to me. What a surprise to find it was a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and it was at eye level, plus she didn't mind me being there at all. 😀

Early morning on the Somerset Levels and what looks like a two pairs of Curlew squabbling over a territory. 😀
