Let's give 'em a hand! 🦾 25 years ago on April 22, 2001, STS-100 astronauts Chris Hadfield and Scott Parazynski completed a 7-hour spacewalk, installing the International Space Station's robotic arm, Canadarm2! That day, Hadfield (center) became the first Canadian spacewalker.

Big waves and a big iceberg all in one shot. This was quite the morning viewing the massive iceberg that was at Ferryland Newfoundland a few years ago. Icebergs are starting to appear along our shores. Exciting times!

In 1978, a French astrophysicist hand-drew the first image of a black hole using an IBM 7040 and punch cards. No screen. No rendering engine. Just math, ink, and patience. 46 years later, when we finally photographed one for real… it looked almost exactly like this.

Escape velocity is the minimum speed an object must reach to break free from a planet's or celestial body's gravitational pull without further propulsion. For Earth, this velocity is approximately 11.2 kilometers per second (about 25,000 miles per hour).
