🧵3/ This is grassroots scrutiny. It exists because many NHS trusts have: • failed to update written policies • removed policies without communicating this • continued to train staff using guidance that no longer reflects the law

🧵4/ Where trusts state that a policy has been “removed”, we will also be asking whether, as required for lawful compliance and to ensure staff and patients are not misled: • the written policy was formally updated or withdrawn • any other policies, guidance or local procedures

🧵5/ Silent removal is not compliance. If unlawful guidance is not clearly withdrawn and corrected, it continues to shape practice — particularly in relation to single-sex spaces. Having no policy is not a lawful or viable option.
