Missed out on tickets for tonight's Night for Nature in Hackney? Our russell miller will be talking about #NatureRecovery on #HackneyMarshes at this event in March. This one is online so shouldn't sell out!

Nature Recovery takes thought, wisdom, action and most of all care. Despite vast forces ranged against it the natural world is resilient and responds to opportunity. Join in #NatureRecovery on #HackneyMarshes with russell miller #woodlandmanagement workshops: bit.ly/RM_Eventbrite

More coppicing & woodland management workshops in February. We are managing secondary woods planted 20+ years ago; diversity structure, creating decaying wood habitats and optimising floral diversity. Part of a long term, large scale #NatureRecovery project on #HackneyMarshes.

This photo won’t win any awards, but it’s great to see a couple of Common Frogs in the pond garden on London Fields. Another species that’s here thanks to the biodiversity project. #LondonFields #NatureRecovery #HackneyNatureRecovery #ReNatureLondon #ReNatureLDN #HackneyWildlife

#WhitewebbsOak massacre. 1/4 What we know. On 3 April prof contractors destroyed a priceless 300+year old ancient oak; The tree is on the national Ancient Tree Inventory but was NOT plotted by Spurs on the tree survey for their new training ground; It is owned by Enfield Council

russell miller (@treeruss) 's Twitter Profile Photo

2\4 The tree is more valuable ecologically and arboriculturally than the #SycamoreGap tree. It contains internationally threatened saproxylic habitats including Brown rot and wood mould as well as cavities for vertebrates like bats. It was an irreplaceable national treasure.

russell miller (@treeruss) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Enfield Council say they did not authorise or know about the tree work & have reported the vandalism to the police as criminal damage. Spurs have apparently told Enfield that it wasn’t them. Spurs want to bulldoze flat 17ha of #Whitewebbs and cover it in plastic football pitches.

russell miller (@treeruss) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Ian Davis Terry Smith #WhitewebbsOak was a publicly owned tree felled without permission. This is criminal damage as in case of #SycamoreGap. Difference here Metropolitan Police refuse to investigate. Still don't know who felled the tree, only that Toby Carvery parent company say it was their contractor.
