Our beautiful free standing espalier, a brambley cooker apple, is blooming. Planted by my great grandfather. It’s considered by some to be one of the oldest free standing espalier apple trees in Ireland.

Quite often structural problems with trees are signalled by thinning crowns compared to healthy trees, and very fine dead shoots around the outer extremes of the crown.

This swift lost its nesting cavity due to construction work. It doesn’t understand and keeps coming back, still looking, brushing against the wall, trying to cling to it. This behavior usually lasts about ten days 1/2
