Three-cornered leek is widely recognised as an invasive species (nonnativespecies.org/assets/Uploads…) meanwhile Islington Council treat it as a beloved wild flower and carefully mow around it. The msg is not getting through, sigh. Check Clean Dry GB
While in Haggerston I took a quick detour to Kingsland Basin, a thriving haven for wildlife managed by the wonderful Wildlife Gardeners of Haggerston.

April’s aquatic invert survey was a revelation. Yes, it’s great to find a caseless cadis but who knew fishes had a larval stage? Luckily we have a marine biologist amongst us who informed on this little speck of life in pic 2.

very exciting - 2 years ago I helped 11 year old Isabella start a campaign to protect the orchids on a small roundabout near her Oxford home. Now Oxford City Council have changed their mowing plans. Thank you to Chris Packham George Monbiot who helped push this out
