Amazing few days at @UWaterlooCEMC Summer conference! Met some great people in real life after virtual friendships for some time and made some new connections as well. And so many takeaways!

Day 1. Standard 8x8 chess board. Shared image only, used notice and wonder, then had students work at VNPS on How many squares? Plenty of ‘Aha!’ moments as one group blurted, ‘not 64, there are 65!’ Then I said, maybe there are more?!? 🤷‍♂️ Then the explorations really began.
