It’s been over 5 years that Hammersmith Bridge has been closed.

I have been campaigning for its reopening consistently.

Meanwhile the Tories only come out at local or mayoral election time, pretending their dither, delay and inaction isn’t the reason repair costs are soaring…

If Hands had spent 1% of the effort he puts into party point scoring on persuading his govt to pay their fair share to fix the Bridge maybe we could have made more progress. So far H&F Council, despite having half its budget cut by that govt, has paid out £30m, the govt £13m.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the first closure of Hammersmith Bridge, it seems appropriate to remind ministers of their promise that 'the next Conservative Government will not allow this bridge to remain closed'.

Half a decade later, we're still waiting...
