We are devastated to learn of the death of our friend and colleague Andrew Stunell.
Andrew was a superb politician and a dedicated local champion who spent a lifetime working to improve the lives of others as a councillor, MP and peer.

It’s been clear for months that Thames Water is failing.

That is why the Liberal Democrats have called for it to be put into special administration and reformed into a public benefit company.

Only that way can we stabilise this polluting giant and finally force it to clean up its act.

They should be put into special administration immediately and made into a public benefit company.

Very disappointing that 187 Tory peers this afternoon stopped proposals from Sarah Olney and SalBrinton which would have given victims access to transcripts of sentencing remarks and judges' summaries free of charge.

This is an insult to victims.

It's time to ensure their customers have a water company that can stop throwing money down the drain, keep the taps running, invest to end the sewage crisis.

Victims are being charged more for court transcripts than perpetrators are being charged for the crimes they committed.

Let's hope the Govt takes the opportunity to remedy this injustice today.

Thank goodness the government knew better than to rush legislation through in a farce.

Instead we shall have to content ourselves with the watertight 'Pizza Is A Vegetable' Act 2024.
