✊ Today I'm on strike with other NUJ members because we can't afford the 3% pay rise on offer from Reach PLC. We don't want to be on strike, we want our CEO to come to the negotiating table, find a resolution and give us a wage we can live on. #NUJReachStrike

A huge thank you for everyone who supported #Reachplc NUJ journos in #Birmingham today as we made a stand for #fairpay Tomorrow we begin ‘work to rule’ - we hope it inspires our executives to show how much they value us and get back around the negotiating table

Shout out Tahir Ali MP the only one of #Birmingham’s The Labour Party MPs to join us on the picket line today #NUJReachStrike He’s also been showing solidarity to other workers in the city fighting for #fairpay No word of support from any Birmingham Labour councillors either 🙁

Nice take on the #NUJReachstrike here from The Guardian with extract here - We’d add that some new and young journos are also being encouraged to write original copy alongside the ‘veterans’ but the sentiment is spot on.

NUJ and BECTU reps met Al Jazeera management at ACAS the conciliation service today. There was no agreement on pay, and the unions will formally notify Al Jazeera of a ballot on industrial action in the coming week.

Al Jazeera could be next to see strike action after Reach journalists walked out last week. Pay talks between the broadcaster, NUJ and Bectu with ACAS failed to reach an agreement today pressgazette.co.uk/strikes-journa…

Watching Robert Peston and we'd love to invite trade unionist Jess Phillips to join us on the picket line in our fight for fair pay here in #Birmingham - we will be standing proud outside the Reachplc office in Church Street, Wednesday to Friday - be great to see you NUJ

As the true depths of Donald Trump’s seditious depravity are finally confirmed, it’s amazing to remember how many U.K. pundits & politicians lionised & defended him. Most of them are simultaneously being proved catastrophically wrong about Brexit too. Don’t expect any apologies!
