To be fair, Neil Oliver is not ‘standing by’ one of the most blatant examples of censorship we’ve ever seen..,

He stayed sitting down throughout.

Stone cold resignation issue for any presenter who professes to believe in free speech & possesses a scintilla of integrity.
So obviously Farage won’t walk but surely Neil Oliver has to…

Remember the golden rule. People who believe they’re cleverer than everyone else rarely are.
Remember the other golden rule.
This guy is angry, unhinged and weird.
He was advising a British prime minister, not that long ago .

“Cocktail of crapulence” is perhaps the stand-out characterisation of How They Broke Britain, in James O'Brien’s new book.

Before noting Mr O’Brien’s phrase, I’d decided on “cancerous concerto of 24 carat crud” *.

Take your pick.

Buy the book.

James O'Brien Having recently digested the Paul Dacre chapter (he seems nice) & the historic ‘adventures’ of the Rothermere family touched upon, I’d like to be able to say that nothing surprises me these days.

This comes close. Sort of….

Legal concerns being raised over the Suella Braverman MP plan to ban tents…George Peretz KC 🇺🇦 raised similar Qs re ECHR

Fwiw, I understand that Govt lawyers were also “nervous” about the planned clauses for criminal justice bill…but other Whitehall sources say the issues resolved.

I hope ‘How They Broke Britain’ does a decent job of explaining the creation of the ecosystem that allowed all the mad, bad things to happen. But *David Icke* claiming that the unhinged rantings of a former Culture Secretary prove his insane conspiracy theories is quite a moment.

Let's make it clear: living on the streets is not a ‘lifestyle choice’ - it is a sign of failed government policy.

No one should be punished for being homeless.

Criminalising people for sleeping in tents, and making it an offence for charities to help them, is unacceptable.

My first public performance in Birmingham since 1989 when a security guard at the Pavillions shopping centre told me & my girlfriend off for spending over an an hour snogging next to the fountains. (The entire mall is now a Primark.)

After thirteen years of Tory rule, an unprecedented number of people are sleeping in tents.
The Tory response is to ban tents.

The rise in homelessness occurred under the Conservative government as result of Conservative government failure.

James O'Brien James we didn’t break Britain.😡
We built back better.
-You have 40 new hospitals.
-A Northern Powerhouse ably served by high speed transport links to Birmingham.
-Fertilised waterways.
-Huge fossil fuel investment making us almost net zero
-A vibrant economy.
And no meat taxes!
