Every part of society that has "collapsed," Higher Ed, Law, Media, etc has done so not simply out of fear but out of willing vichy complicity by conservatives and centrists within the organizations

This is something Republicans are generally just better at and it really helps them. George W. Bush hasnโ€™t even attended a RNC since his renomination in 2004! Meanwhile Dems were giving the Clintons primetime speaking slots in 2024.

Donโ€™t take medical advice from AI. Donโ€™t take legal advice from AI. Donโ€™t take financial advice from AI. Better yet, stop using generative AI. Itโ€™s destroying the environment, it generates slop and is destroying the internet, artists, creativity and our brains.

I love that george lucas understood on a historical level exactly how fascist movements manifest and take power and then weaved that sophisticated political crescendo within a childrenโ€™s movie starring jar jar binks

It's kind of funny how "boys and girls have different educational outcomes because of different social norms around education" used to be considered an unrealistic woke libtard view and now it's conservatives talking about it because the girls are performing better

For all the โ€œtoo far leftโ€ rhetoric and the talk about needing to appeal to centrists it turns out that no matter how Americans identify politically almost none of them like their landlord or Israel

I think we've very much been boxed into a "left/center/right" frame when actual people's politics are far more nuanced, and especially with voting, ppl oftentimes like candidates who stand for something and seem genuine and honest.

As Iโ€™ve said repeatedly, this should be a national scandal within the Democratic Party with seismic long term implications. Theyโ€™ve gone from refusing to endorse the partyโ€™s nominee to publicly trashing him to tacitly supporting a Trump backed attempt to defeat him. Just unreal.

As a rule, caucus leadership doesnโ€™t do this unless polling is coming back for frontline districts showing that being critical of Israel is an asset in the 2026 general elections. And for her to go this far means it is quite an asset. A lot is about to happen.

dems should announce that the next president will prosecute the c suite of the 20 highest ranked companies on this list. a little counter incentive

Feels like a Newsom presidency would finally answer the question, "what would it have been like if Obama had viscerally hated the GOP as much as he should have?" Some important benefits to that, but then there's the actual (likely similar) policy approach...
