Let's talk about duty. Disabled people do not have a duty to work unsuitable jobs. Let's get that clear. The government *does* have a duty to not dehumanise the million disabled people who want to work but are denied the chance. It’s a duty the government is failing on 🧵 1/7

It’s been my pleasure to help the team West Midlands Police Museum on this! Thank you for having me on board and I’m absolutely thrilled to see it finally in print! 🚓 🤩

Such very sad news that Erwin James has died. I read his Guardian column back in the day & his writing was a huge influence on my PhD. I eventually met him at a PRT writing comp judging day + asked him why he thought writing by prisoners is important - he said "to give hope" ♥️

This column by Erwin James is so bloody wise and moving. Wonderful sduff, I really do think A Life Inside is the Guardian's greatest series – it humanised prison, and people who'd committed terrible crimes, for so many people. theguardian.com/society/2024/j…

Sadly, we have had to close applications for this service in less than 24 hours because we've had 7 times the number of applications that we have places. Grant funders, this is the level of unmet need. National and local government, this is the level of unmet need.

They desperately want us to believe that autism and ADHD are now being 'overdiagnosed'. The alternative is to admit that for generations, neurodivergent people have been systematically ignored and failed.

To everyone who has campaigned for Labour in this election, to everyone who voted for us and put their trust in our changed Labour Party - thank you.

Socks can be a lot to navigate when you’re Autistic. For me to feel comfortable wearing them, I have to make sure they’re positioned perfectly, have no areas where they’re out of shape, there’s a lack of material or even the smallest hole. And if they get even slightly wet… ugh!
