I really don’t understand Sunak and Braverman’s game. Britain is a decent, tolerant country and their hate-based politics is appealing to about 20% of voters.

It’s politically stupid and morally repulsive.

Proper Malverns tour, from Midsummer Hill to End Hill.

It’s quite some achievement to take a 80 seat landslide majority to this in under 4 years.

Winter’s hiding in northern Scandinavia over the next few days.

Some impressive low temperatures forecast. But more than balanced by a ridiculous heatwave in the east.

Incredible amounts of rain over Pas de Calais.

Not renowned for large amounts of rain, it’s seen more than twice the November average rainfall in the first 9 days.

Severe and prolonged flooding is the predictable result.

Early heads up.

Jetstream likely to move north and ramp up next week.

Models starting to show potentially impactful storms.

Stay tuned for updates.

This article in Telegraph Money should really be headlined:

SOLAR FARMS HELP FOOD SECURITY BY CROSS SUBSIDISING FOOD PRODUCTION

Because that’s what 2/3 of the examples used show

A quick thread on why a lot of the claims it makes don’t really stack up…

The fourth week of heavy rainfall for many southern and eastern parts of England.

After the first week of November some regions have recorded almost two thirds of average monthly rainfall.

This record high amount of precipitatable water is a clear indication of increasing atmospheric heat.

Temperature increase means more SPECIFIC heat.

With a temperature increase of 1°C, the atmosphere can hold ~7% more Water Vapor.

More WV increases LATENT heat.

I repeat ZERO chance

The fate of birds is decided by field economics - and field economics are getting more brutal not less

The scales are tilting worse not better
