Let’s bring the outcomes that matter to those end of life it’s about equity, value, and optimising outcomes. Ultimately let’s understand our population better to meet what matters to them at end of life. Partnership without organisational boundaries.

Paul Miller 💯Several ICSs have shown how giving professionals working in social care ready access to hospital discharge and medication records has massively reduced totally unproductive time spent chasing people, ringing up, ringing back... up to 1hr/day ! Not cuts; more time 2 care.

This fascinating map by Andy Arthur 🐣 Threadinburgh 🧵 beautifully illustrates the extensive Glasgow tram network in 1938, with over 1,000 municipally-owned trams connecting communities as distant as Clydebank and Airdrie. Imagine if Glasgow City Council could resurrect even a fraction of this today.

It seemed everything was getting better last week. My brilliant husband was recovering from the cardiac arrest that very nearly killed him. He’d finally got home from hospital.

Then his heart stopped again.

We were in bed. I was the only one there.

All he had.

Here jmir.org/2024/1/e55779 is another paper that came out while I was on leave. It has this fantastic diagram that simplifies the landscape of current eHealth data standards.

Elijah Charles Kev Mayfield Tom Smith Gary McAllister The challenge with RDBMS is the complexity of joins as the system scales up.

An openEHR CDR is designed to protect the underlying dB from that fragility, its db Schema remaining unchanged regardless of new/updated clinical content thrown at it.

Kev Mayfield Seref Arikan Gary McAllister Tom Smith Whatever way you look at it is the future for clinical data. HL7 and FHIR is just shuffling messages here and there and doesn’t solve the long term problems. It has a place and works well with openEHR not instead of. They are doing 2 different things.

1/10 🧵🤔 Confused about the difference between and open-source? You're not alone. When discussing openEHR with health IT professionals, many have mistaken it for just another open-source initiative.
