We are meeting our minister on Monday afternoon for discussion around the viability of small and medium services. We are hopeful for a good out come. Minister we can only hope you are not going to waste our time and that you will put real solutions on the table. Roderic O’Gorman TD
Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers Roderic O’Gorman TD Looking forward to hearing the outcome of this,as are the very many families in our sevices who are anxious to know whether their community will have any Preschools in existence within 12 months. Last minute chance to sort this Roderic O’Gorman TD ,don't squander it.
Siobhan Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers Roderic O’Gorman TD Same in our service anxious families anxious staff. We will not be continuing as we are 2023, we held out for CF only to be completely let down. We cannot hold out any longer. Providers cannot subsidise the ecce scheme indefinitely. We have our own families to care for
Green Party Ireland Roderic O’Gorman TD What about ECCE only services that currently have zero cost to parents? They will be non existent in a few years if you don’t start to properly fund them. A lot of parents are not going to be happy with the disappearance of their free preschools
Green Party Ireland Roderic O’Gorman TD Meanwhile on the ground services are closing permanently. We can only hope there is a really good solution for small and medium services on Monday Roderic O’Gorman TD The Federation of Early Childhood Providers Micheál Martin mmcgrathtd
Emma Gleeson Catherine Tyrrell Green Party Ireland Roderic O’Gorman TD Parents are not going to be happy as they will have less choice as to where they wnt put their children. Many parents want the small homely type preschools for just the free 3 hours and avail of any extra hours. There are less of those on my area now and parents are not happy
Does this sound familiar in our sector. The Federation of Early Childhood Providers
More and more small SMEs closing down. Someone must be made accountable for this providers Borrowing money to pay staff wages over Christmas. Providers not taking a wage. One service is having a closing down sale today in Dublin. Leo Varadkar meet with the FECP Peadar Tóibín TD
Why is education being removed from our Early Years EDUCATORS qualifications? ECEC is used worldwide. Personally I find this disrespectful. Even more so as EY services are inspected by many including the Dept of Education @dcediy Department of Education and Youth Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers ACP Ireland ECE Quality Ireland
You cannot deny increase in service closures. This graph says it all Saturday with Cormac ó hEadhra This Week RTÉ this needs to be addressed urgently. Services that closed last year are still on the TUSlA register. We need to ask why ?
Elaine Dunne Federation Early Childhood Providers Saturday with Cormac ó hEadhra This Week RTÉ And is this what Roderic O’Gorman TD is basing his response to sessional only ECCE Services queries regarding Core Funding (the services that are not corporate run)
Mary Moloney Faculty of Education, Mary Immaculate College. National Childhood Network Professional Educators and Managers Ireland Crann Support Group OMEP Ireland The preasure to remove "Education" from our titles as Early Year Educators has increased significantly over the years despite professional and academic objection. Let's keep reminding our future Early Years Educators and ourselves that we are indeed "teachers."
Unfortunately this is the story nationwide. @dcediy Roderic O’Gorman TD
Yesterday Professional Educators and Managers Ireland published findings from its recent survey on whether the early childhood profession should be called ELC or ECCE?. Of the 424 respondents, 91.7% favour the term ECCE. Why? Find out by clicking the link below linkedin.com/feed/update/ur… Crann Support Group National Childhood Network
The childcare sector is in crisis. So many services closing this year Government funding failures have caused these issues. Look at the nursing homes in the same boat. Youngest and oldest vulnerable people being neglected through funding. Shameful The Federation of Early Childhood Providers

Following a 4 year ECEC degree, graduate starting salary is €13.65 - 15c more than min wage, compared to a €17.40/hourly rate in Lidl (€2.65 more than living wage). Why is ECEC the cinderella of the education continuum? emmet malone The Hard Shoulder TheJournal.ie
