Why do the likes of Viktor Orban attack minorities, banning events like this weekend's Budapest Pride? We won't allow this scapegoating and chipping away of hard-won rights. That's why I will be marching in Budapest this Saturday in solidarity with our Hungarian siblings 🏳️‍🌈

See you soon Budapest🏳️‍🌈 Wishing everyone in Dublin an enjoyable, empowering and safe Pride this weekend I'll be at the (now banned) parade in Budapest, in solidarity with our LGBTI+ siblings in Hungary. We won't allow Orban's scapegoating of minorities to row back our rights ✊

A brief update ahead of tomorrow's Budapest Pride. While the parade itself is banned, we learned that up to 4 counter-marches have been granted licences and will take place along the route.

Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony has bravely stood up against Viktor Orbán's government and supported the organisers of Budapest Pride. Many of the events taking place this weekend are being hosted by his office. And he's a Green too 😊

🌈💚 More than 200 Greens for all over Europe have travelled to Budapest to march with an estimated 300,000 people in the streets of Budapest. 🇭🇺 Budapest has been a sanctuary of freedom amidst Viktor Orbán’s rule of hatred.

🤔 Why is Fianna Fáil Minister for Higher Education James Lawless rowing back on commitments the Govt. made just months ago? The Programme for Government is the bare minimum that the Govt. should be expected to achieve in this Dáil term. We are already seeing promises broken.

On Saturday, I had the privilege to join almost 200,000 Hungarian citizens to march in solidarity with that countries LGBTI+ community and against Viktor Orban's Pride Parade ban. irishexaminer.com/opinion/commen…

This morning I raised the need for 6 children in St Mochtas NS, Clonsilla to get access to the new ASD class that will be opening in the school in September. Every child deserves an appropriate school place.

I requested today's debate take place in the Dáil on the All-Island Strategic Rail Review. The report's recommendations are clear and concise - now the Govt must commit to timelines and funding for these transformative projects.

The DFA officials at the Oireachtas Ctte. were clear this week - to abide by the ICJ ruling, we must include goods AND services in the OTB. Furthermore, officials also noted that the exclusion of services would weaken the Bill's ability to stand up in the European Courts.

Tomorrow marks the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide when 8372 men and boys were massacred. Today, the Dáil marked this with a minutes silence, and welcomed many members of our Bosnian community to Leinster House 🇧🇦 🇮🇪

The sculptures of Shoes on the Danube Bank serve as a somber reminder of humanity's darkest days. But genocides are not a historical fact.

This is a significant development at EU level. It shows the value of Ireland leading in terms of banning trade with the illegal settlements in the Occupied Territories. It also shows why it is vital that we ban ALL trade - goods AND services.
