I wish I could spend Christmas with my extended family this year. Normally I'm fine just spending it at home with my "little" family of 5 (+ the fluffy one) but this year I'm feeling a bit sentimental I think.

Merry Christmas everyone, but especially to the book lovers! Hope you all got spoiled with some new reading material this Christmas. β€οΈπŸŽ„

Current (physical) TBR pile, organized and displayed using this handy little shelf-thing my eldest child bought me for Christmas. I'm a very 'out of sight, out of mind' kind of person so keeping these lined up where I can easily see them will – hopefully – help me actually read.

I love how often I start watching something with no idea that Lukas Gage is in it, only to suddenly see him on my screen. Absolutely delightful, every single time. There's just something about that guy.

First time doing Ab Ripper X in quite a while, and while it is significantly easier than it was when I first started really getting into working out, it still amuses me just how much it manages to humble me every time.

I've been really into short stories lately. I got off to a really slow start with reading this year, and reading short stories has been the thing that's gotten me back on track.

Decided to join my husband for his leg workout yesterday (& get a free personal training session out of the deal! πŸ˜‰) & oh my goodness have I ever been humbled. My legs & glutes are killing me. Stairs are the enemy. This is the best kind of agony. πŸ˜† Can't wait for upper body day

I used to be very, very anti e-book. To a near snobby degree, I'll admit now. But man, the convenience of carrying dozens of books around with me everywhere has really grown on me.

I love/hate that 3 different shows I had been looking forward to all started their new seasons right around the same time. It's great for my own personal entertainment, but really sucks for my overall productivity. πŸ˜† (The Boys, The Testaments and From, for the record.)

I think Shunammite and Paula are my favourite characters so far on the Testaments. (The show version) Not because they're necessarily likeable or good people, but I appreciate the way both characters are being played, and the hints that there's a lot more to each of them.

Writing a book is a MASSIVE achievement. Even if it's not perfect. Even if no one has read it. Even if it never gets published. So no matter what happens next, take the time to appreciate everything you have done so far. The simple act of finishing an entire first draft is
