It was never about ‘working’. It was always about headlines. It is hideously expensive and makes the UK look ridiculous. Sunak and the Tories offer no leadership, no workable policies, just ever more desperate gimmicks.

OK, I have to remind everyone that the Salisbury/Addison two party agreement was declared redundant by the 2006 Joint Committee on Conventions (approved by both Houses), the Rwanda Bill was not in the 2019 manifesto & the Lords have a constitutional responsibility to improve it!

So far the obvious reluctance of Tory Peers to pass the rubbish Rwanda plan - revealed by terrible turnout to vote - suggests that they know it won’t deter people smugglers or save money, so it is better prevented by Parliamentary Ping-Pong than actually allowed to fail!

Mr Sunak. One more thing. There’s something bothering me.
You say Mark Rowley must be held responsible for the actions of one of his officers. Yet you refuse to take responsibility for the actions of your MPs. Is it one rule for the billionaires & another for everyone else, sir?

Yes, I reached that conclusion too. Very disappointing, also that most of the media fell for it uncritically. We have enough divisive trouble in this country without Mr Falter generating more or distracting from the anguish of Israel/Gaza

Mishal Husain: You've called for the Met police chief(Mark Rowley) to go... have you seen the whole video involving Gideon Falter?

Suella Braverman: No

MH: I suggest you watch the whole video... as you're basing what you're saying on incomplete information

Quite remarkably Sky News have posted this 13 minute video which gives context to Metropolitan Police’s interaction with Gideon Falter. It shows a Police Officer being extremely polite and patient with Mr Falter, as he consistently ignores their explanations as to why he can’t cross the

Just listened to self styled victim of Met treatment. Gideon Falter, in (too) long I/v on R4 World This Weekend. My sympathy is with the Met as all sides - not least Falter- cash in ahead of London mayoral poll. Real victims are in Gaza & Israel, not here bbc.com/news/articles/…

I don’t know where Angela Rayner lived, but I do know;
Mark Menzies
William Wragg
Scott Benton
Crispin Blunt
Peter Bone
Chris Pincher
David Warburton
Julian Knight
Andrew Bridgen
and Matt Hancock
were ALL suspended by the Tory party after Sunak said his Govt was one of integrity

Ed Davey:
“Expanding youth mobility visas to Europe on a reciprocal basis would be a win-win.
A boost to our economy, especially hospitality and tourism;
new opportunities for young British people to work abroad; and
a step towards fixing our broken relationship with Europe.”

The majority of British people regret leaving the EU, and can clearly see the damage Brexit has done to the UK economy.

Why doesn't Keir Starmer follow Ed Davey's lead and embrace the principle of rejoining the EU?

If Met Police chief Sir Mark Rowley has to resign because of the behaviour of an officer

How many times will Rishi Sunak have to resign because of the behaviour of his 'officers' Conservative MPs?
