Such an exciting find by my son this week, whilst we were out exploring cliffs on the Antrim coast. Mountain avens! Several large patches of it on very inaccessible ground. This is only the 2nd record for this plant in the county. #wildflowerhour

Very tough day for Ulster Wildlife today as we said goodbye to our CEO. Support from our environmental colleagues has been overwhelming and all the messages a lovely tribute to an irreplaceable force for nature. Stopped on the way home for a quiet moment in the bluebells
#Ballyvaughan valley a sight to behold particularly in good weather. The valley opens to #GalwayBay ; limestone terraces at W & E sides rise to 300m. There is a long farming history, esp. #IronAge , #Medieval & recent. Landmarks: Newtown castle (16C) & Martello tower (early 19C)
