Caught a couple of 'rare' birds on the Merlin app at Slievenacloy Nature Reserve today. Beautiful site packed full of wildflowers, butterflies & birds (and a handful of cows). Ulster Wildlife #LeaveNoTrace
Very tough day for Ulster Wildlife today as we said goodbye to our CEO. Support from our environmental colleagues has been overwhelming and all the messages a lovely tribute to an irreplaceable force for nature. Stopped on the way home for a quiet moment in the bluebells
Big shout out to Marsh Lane Harriers who I adopted as pacers for a big part of Manchester marathon. Got me round the first 18 or so miles in good form, kept me relaxed and well looked after. I:d love to buy a t-shirt and represent from Ireland. DM me!
Delighted that Chris Heward from The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust will be delivering an update on the 2023 breeding woodcock survey in Enniskillen on March 27th.
All welcome - come along & learn more about this fascinating species. #woodcock
Haven’t tweeted about work stuff for a while as Sarah Hickey & Anna Clarke-Smith are doing an excellent job via (please follow) Manx Peat Partnership super (new’ish) team delivering nature based solutions that work in tandem with current & sustainable upland agriculture.
Another example of rushing to plant trees but not understanding the eco-system. We did (still do) this in Ireland with peatlands. Time for immediate rethink FAO Forestry UN Environment Programme Dianna Kopansky SERestoration Peatlands Gathering
This is a 'gift'. We can do things that are straightforward and make a massive difference, a little support and the impact can be substantial BelfastHarbour Ulster Wildlife Native Oyster Network - UK & Ireland

The Lough Erne Landscape Partnership hit a rather large milestone in November 2023, as we supported the Lough Erne Wildfowlers Council (Lough Erne Waders) in their endeavours to create and host Fermanagh's first 'Working Together for Waders' Conference. A great success!
