Local photographer Sam Lamont captured this stunning photo of the aurora over Isle of Muck Nature Reserve last Friday night 😍

Were you lucky enough to spot the spectacle in the sky last weekend?

Caught a couple of 'rare' birds on the Merlin app at Slievenacloy Nature Reserve today. Beautiful site packed full of wildflowers, butterflies & birds (and a handful of cows). Ulster Wildlife

Very tough day for Ulster Wildlife today as we said goodbye to our CEO. Support from our environmental colleagues has been overwhelming and all the messages a lovely tribute to an irreplaceable force for nature. Stopped on the way home for a quiet moment in the bluebells

Big shout out to Marsh Lane Harriers who I adopted as pacers for a big part of Manchester marathon. Got me round the first 18 or so miles in good form, kept me relaxed and well looked after. I:d love to buy a t-shirt and represent from Ireland. DM me!

Did you know that banned, highly toxic pesticides are still being used to kill protected birds of prey in NI?

Since 2009, 64 confirmed birds of prey have been illegally poisoned in NI, including 13 red kites and two white-tailed eagles which were found dead last year. (1/3)

Word fact of the day: ‘penguin’ is one of the few words in the dictionary of Welsh origin: it comes from ‘pen gwyn’, ‘white head’.

(And a reminder that penguins were also once known affectionately as ‘arsefeet’.)

The Lough Erne Landscape Partnership hit a rather large milestone in November 2023, as we supported the Lough Erne Wildfowlers Council (Lough Erne Waders) in their endeavours to create and host Fermanagh's first 'Working Together for Waders' Conference. A great success!
