Tories call passing Rwanda Bill a “landmark moment”.
Yes
A “landmark moment” of constitutional thuggery.
A “landmark moment” of govt extremism, financial idiocy and vicious inhumanity.
A “landmark moment” of international irresponsibility and national disgrace.
Shame on them all.

Aside from the moral and practical vacuity of the Rwanda policy, one thing it illustrates - as we have been saying for years - is that the delays and shortages in the justice system could be fixed if the government cared to.

When they want to spend money on courts, they find it.

Morning! The Rwanda Bill is back in Parliament today.

A reminder that no matter what Parliament votes for, we will continue to stand with people seeking safety and we will continue to say STOP THE PLANES.

Rwanda Bill back this week. Because we could do with our govt wasting more time and money on unworkable, Supreme-Court defying, country-shaming cruelty when everything else is broken and on fire.
Grim how Sunak clings to this grotesque plan as his own small lifeboat. It isn’t.

In an era of misinformation, deepfakes and staggering levels of Gvt incompetence, April Fool’s no longer feels in any way funny.

I’m curious Alex Chalk KC MP
As Lord Chancellor and a KC yourself, shouldn’t you stop Sunak and your grubby Tory press from maligning Starmer for his time as a barrister? Or are you happy to mislead people and undermine our justice system and the rule of law to be a good Tory boy?

Lawyers do not pick favoured cases. Sunak's comments are damaging to public confidence in the Court system and the rule of law and not fitting for a prime minister to make.

Foreign students aren’t immigrants. They’re not on long-term visas, but visas limited to the time they’re studying. They can’t overstay without changing their visas.

They shouldn’t even be included in immigration stats.

I look at a LOT of opinion polling on immigration, and I just don’t think cutting the family rights of foreign students is something the country desperately wants.

We want a fucking funded health service and some fucking affordable homes. You useless fucking pricks.

The Rwanda scheme isn’t bad because it costs too much money. It isn’t bad because they’ve failed to send any asylum seekers to Rwanda. It’s bad because it’s bloody inhuman, insanely evil, and we should never, ever, have even considered it.

Let's make it clear: living on the streets is not a ‘lifestyle choice’ - it is a sign of failed government policy.

No one should be punished for being homeless.

Criminalising people for sleeping in tents, and making it an offence for charities to help them, is unacceptable.

Yesterday I had to teach my students, in under 3 hours, what the EU was and why was happening. It seemed like an impossible task. Then I found this MEP had done it in 2 minutes.

This is very important. Please watch and RT.
