There are coal chute covers along the north side of Charlotte Square (Bute House etc). These are square as opposed to round.

I always thought the Dean Village ( or controversially should it be Dene Village/Village of Dene ) was on the land now taken up by the Dean Cemetery. and that the old village by the water was the Water of Leith Village.

I believe the painting is still in the old Leith Council Chambers, which is part of Leith Police Station and is therefore not easy to get in to see. These photos were taken as part of Doors Open Days in 2019.

I passed this skip today and wondered if this was the roof of a WWII Anderson Shelter?
