That’s what we call ‘plane sailing’ ✈️

Twenty years ago today our Concorde arrived at the National Museum of Flight after a rather epic journey, which included a barge along the Thames ⛴️

And this is my absolutely favourite thing in the National Museum of Scotland: a Viking burial from Orkney. This was a man aged about 30 and he was buried with - amongst other things - his gaming pieces. ❤️

We loved the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the National Museums Scotland for Edinburgh Science
'★★★★★ A stunning exhibition featuring some outstanding memorable images of wildlife. The book is also excellent!
Meanwhile of course the museum itself continues to provide a fantastic family day out.'

An English gold double crown of Charles I. It was engraved by and minted using machinery designed by Nicholas Briot between 1631 & 1632. Only a small number of machine-made coins were struck for circulation in England during Charles I’s reign. From National Museums Scotland’s collection.
