Very informative meeting yesterday evening Canterbury Labour Party 🇺🇦 on Poverty and what The Labour Party can do in the 1st 100 days to reduce deep poverty aka as Destitution. One thing is repeal of the 2 child limit on Child Benefit and this would be a fitting tribute to #FrankFieldRiP #R4today

Your The Labour Party led city council in #Canterbury is putting the resource behind our promises. We put half a million £££ into a vital climate change reserve fund to ensure local projects to help save our planet are prioritised & delivered.
Windy day here in #Swalecliffe #HerneBay - saw a fair few trees down on our drive this morning and reported two into KCC Highways - take care out there as the winds continue.
Great The Labour Party street stall at the weekend, talking to the public about the recent bungles and fails of KCC Highways bringing traffic chaos to our area.
Happy Birthday Bagpuss 💤 who has turned 50! The The Beaney has a special children’s Bagpuss trail and writing competition running until the Easter holidays, so pop in and see why this pink chap is getting such a fuss made of him. Canterbury City Council
Excellent to visit theSeasideMuseum yesterday, in my cabinet role, to discuss how we can best protect our smaller town museums for the long-term. These spaces are vital for learning, community outreach and preserving our area’s unique heritage. Please visit - they are fab!
A real buzz to the beginning of our schools poetry workshops yesterday. As part of their community engagement programme, the Canterbury Festival offer free music and poetry workshops to Kent schools. This year’s theme for National Poetry Day is ‘counting’.
What a horrible fact about modern Britain, care of yesterday’s The Times and The Sunday Times - Please SHARE to raise awareness. This is not okay; a government serious about protecting women and girls must take action.
“She should be #Canterbury ’s most famous daughter and it’s an absolute crime that she isn’t” – the opening words from Charlotte Cornell 🌹✍️ who spoke to us recently about #poet , #playwright & #spy , #AphraBehn : rotarycanterbury.org.uk/canterbury-rot…

Dear Sainsbury's and Oxfam - the clothes and shoe collection stations here in #Canterbury are much-needed and appreciated, but the area around the store is becoming a environmental health hazard. What has happened? When will this be cleaned up and sorted?
