My friend in England sent it to me today, a small town in Canterbury oil painting. Asked me if I wanted to travel there together.😂Am I going or not?

Today is the feast of St Anselm (1033/4-1109), one of the fathers of Scholasticism, and archbishop of Canterbury from 1093 until his death. Canonized in 1494, proclaimed a Doctor of the Church in 1720. This sculpture of him is on the façade of Westminster Cathedral.

St. Anselm, Doctor of the Church (1109)

Born in Italy and educated in Normandy, he became a Benedictine monk, teacher, and Abbot at Bec. Consecrated Archbishop of Canterbury, he secured the Westminster Agreement of 1107, guaranteeing the independence of the Church from the state

I love churches around Banks Peninsula, Canterbury. In late March I visited St Luke’s Anglican Church. It's perched on a hill in Little Akaloa & was finished in 1906. The exterior caught my eye, it has a roughcast finish using plaster & paua shell from Little Akaloa beach.

After everyone backed off and it took time to regroup, the young lion ran off in the same direction as its sibling.

We thank Beck and Canterbury for delaying the dam release and reporting this to give CPW a chance to rescue them.

This Evening, The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop in Europe received His Holiness Pope Benedict and a delegation from the Roman Catholic Church at Lambeth Palace. During the meeting, both Churches reaffirmed our commitment to our long-lasting, close relationship.
