It would be easy to make adequate ventilation/filtration in public spaces mandated as in Belgium & to require masks when not possible or when with vulnerable people. In UK 25% cases from health settings. Would benefit economy, health & wellbeing. UK Govt plz do it Keir Starmer

Yep, all these problems have been caused by lockdowns. Nothing to do with babies and children being repeatedly infected with C19 and opportunistic infections. Nothing at all 🙄 theguardian.com/education/arti…

Who could have predicted heart failure rates would increase after we let rip a virus, that among many other things, is associated with ⬆️’g heart failure?? 🤔 anyone else sick of shouting warnings into the void about SAR2& CVS disease for yrs now that are largely ignored? 😔

Last month #ThereForME sent a letter to Wes Streeting MP signed by 2,600 #ME #LongCovid patients & carers. On Friday we received a response. We’re disappointed he did not respond to us in person or commit to a meeting. We think patients deserve better. thereforme.uk/p/campaign-upd…

A small % of a very large number is still a large number Study suggests that ~8% of children have #LongCovid symptoms after 1 year (6% at 18 months). Given nearly everyone is now infected (many repeatedly) that is a lot of children Vaccines reduce risk news-medical.net/news/20240908/…

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry has begun what I think will be its most important module - what actually happened in the NHS during the pandemic - watch live here: youtube.com/live/Vaas4YZkc…

I'm so happy to be able to share this! It's SLIGHTLY dominated life over the summer - my house is a tip, the kids were abandoned & had to work on holiday.. but it's out. Just trying hard to achieve better air quality for kids in school. #CleanAirNow safeairschools.org

I am one of these health care workers whose quality of life is extremely poor & have never been able to return to 2 jobs I loved as a nurse & fitness instructor 4.5+ yes since contracting C19. I struggle to be a wife, mother, daughter & sister too bc of #LongCovid

Lockdowns, or widespread covid infection? A few weeks off school less likely to age your brain than, say, a pandemic virus that’s disabled hundreds of millions globally & been frequently shown to have wide ranging neurological consequences 🤷‍♂️ theguardian.com/science/articl…

Why, despite #LongCovid being foreseeable, was there such a delay in recognising and providing any response? Why did patient advocates have to fight for recognition? The response by the UK healthcare system has been and remains inadequate The #Covid_19 pandemic is ongoing 2/4

Long Covid SOS (@longcovidsos) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Data gathering and research on both prevelence and degree of impact of #LongCovid was delayed, then inadequate, and now abandoned Research has been inadequate and delayed The healthcare system overlooked #LongCovid - much of the current provision is inadequate 3/4

There's no treatment for #LongCovid Practitioners patients and the public were not & are not adequately warned about the risk of LC LC exacerbates existing inequalities and creates new ones LC affected HCWs disproportionately yet protections offered were wholly inadequate 4/4

The disastrous IPC policy being quite rightly called out here. ‘Lives could have been saved’. In 2024, we *still* don’t have an NHS IPC policy mandating FFP3 masks when nursing COVID positive patients. Still surgical masks. Still inadequate. Still putting staff at risk.
