The F1 Dutch Grand Prix weekend starts today in the town of Zandvoort. And despite its relatively remote location on the sea (with strong winds and rain in the forecast), upwards of 45,000 fans ride their bikes there each day. The pop-up cycle parking outside of the race track.

ā€œOf all the Bank Holidays the Monday in August seems the most genuine. Whit Monday, like Easter Monday, moves with the compulsion of the moon. August Bank Holiday depends upon nothing but itself. It is a gift-day, out of, and generally under, the blue.ā€ ~A.A.Milne #GiftDay

An 18-year-old girl, a pedestrian, was killed outside my flat today by a speeding driver. If she had been stabbed by someone of colour, it would be all over the news, but instead, the media only reports traffic disruption. #UKCarCulture

We’re coming up to the Budget, and the chance to see Labour’s infrastructure vision unfold. There’s one project I’m looking out for in particular. Because it will tell us whether Keir Starmer will be the man to finish Clement Attlee’s roads programme. 🧵

An argument to stop moving the clocks back. New data from AA’s shows that crash levels rise by nearly 11% in the two weeks after the clocks go back, compared to the previous two weeks*. But most crashes can be avoided by changing the way you drive.

⁦Keir Starmer⁩ will this mean no shareholder dividends? I hope so. Water needs to be publicly owned. Water bills to rise by Ā£31 per year over next five years bbc.com/news/articles/…

#STRATEGY | Pavement car parking is dangerous, anti-social and a blight on our city. Now the council will consider a new plan designed to tackle the problem. This will protect pedestrians and ensure our city remains accessible for all.
