Had the privilege of hearing Kris speak at an event several years ago. Her positivity, outlook and determination to make a difference were breathtaking. What an incredible, amazing woman. Such sad news. Love to her friends and family โค๏ธ

Itโ€™s incredible to think that Michael Gove Lee Rowley and Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities believe that the LH&FH reform bill actually addresses the fundamental problem with leasehold. Just call a GE now and let Matthew Pennycook MP deliver on his words*

* policy commitment from Keir Starmer desperately needed.

Sky News reveals exclusive general election projection that 1) pretends Scotland doesn't exist, even though Labour are on course to win 25 seats there and 2) assumes the Liberal Democrats will get 17% of the vote nationally despite consistently polling 9% on average. Uselessโ€ฆ

I find this very hard to believe. No one Iโ€™ve talked politics desires another Tory term. Previous Tory voters who canโ€™t bring themselves to vote for another party are talking about staying at home. Surely the nations mood will result in more than just โ€˜largest partyโ€™?

Regulation? Solicitors are regulated. Didn't help SubPostMasters. The issue the only issue is control. Once their clients are tenants things will change. Only then.

Alan Buckman ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Sky News Protection of rentier income streams is a very disturbing take on the UK's broken housing market and shocking housing crisis that is forcing millions into insecurity, poverty and financial and mental meltdown.

Disproportionately more pensioners are financially impacted by the shitshow that is ground rent / leasehold than any who might see their pension fund investment fall by GR reform. A morally questionable investment in someone elseโ€™s home. You wonโ€™t see that reported by @skynews

Where leasehold reform is concerned, theyโ€™re doing a spectacularly bad job at reassuring the public. Millions of leaseholder votes at stake and The Labour Party are rowing back on timescales for already long overdue change. Major policy speech from leadership needed 2 clarify situation.

Neither the Conservatives nor The Labour Party have done enough to win the hearts and minds of leaseholders.

Both are them are taking a huge gamble thinking this will not be an issue at the GE.

They forget: millions feel like financial hostages in their own homes. We have had enough.

This is critically important to millions of leaseholders who have been taken advantage of for yrs, in ever increasing scams. Successive govtโ€™s of both colours have failed to tackle the injustice of LH. I donโ€™t understand why Keir Starmer remains silent. This needs explaining โฌ‡๏ธ

Barry Gardiner TY Barry. Iโ€™d love that to play out.

But I fear what hope do LHers really have? Everyone agrees itโ€™s dysfunctional but no party leader ever comes out swinging in support, which is what we need. Maybe itโ€™s too minor an issue for them. Iโ€™d hope not though as itโ€™s fundamental to us

Matthew Pennycook MP Thanks for your support, Matthew Pennycook MP.

Leaseholders, including shared owners, need more than protection.

We need control of the homes we bought.

We must be able to easily fire rip-off agents and vote on service charge budgets. Transparency is inadequate.

Matthew Pennycook MP With respect Matthew the last thing we need is yet more talk. Leasehold has to go. People who pay 4 homes must own & control them. We set service charge budgets. We hire & ๐Ÿ”ฅ managing agents. Yr party ducked this in 2002. Millions more plunged into leasehold misery as a result.

The only crime here, is that the incumbent government choose to allow homelessness to be a thing. They could act, but do not. This proposed bill is pointless, inhumane and disgusting.

Be under no illusion fellow leaseholders. This is black and white class warfare. The Treasury and Sunak must feel the full force of our votes, friends, and family. Leasehold is a scourge on our democratic way of life. It must go.
