Our pals at Unite Hospitality have put together an excellent booklet (folding out to a poster!) together for their members on the new legal duty for employers to prevent sexual harassment. Our reps are working on ensuring this duty is upheld at all levels at the University.

🚨BREAKING 🚨 Following the refusal of Village Hotels to negotiate with Unite the union: join a union in good faith to improve pay, contracts & conditions for workers there, we have been left with no choice but to *ballot* our members for industrial action at their flagship site in Glasgow.

Today's vote sets a dangerous, chilling precedent for civil liberties and the right to protest. Protesting against genocide is not a crime. Proscribing such actions as terrorism is an overreach by the state. Politicians would do well to remember that during the vote this evening

We're at Unite Policy Conference this week, hearing a barnstorming speech from the striking Birmingham refuse workers. Shame on the bosses and politicians trying to break their strike after six months of industrial action against up to £8,000 pay cuts.

🚨 ALERTA! ALERTA! 🚨 The results of the consultative ballot on the national pay offer of 1.4% are in. Our members have voted overwhelmingly to reject the offer and move to a strike ballot. This is the highest turnout we've seen for a ballot in our Branch's history! ✊
