If anyone follows Wakefield politics @mywakefield Tory Group Leader Tony Homewood has resigned, but will stay on as an Independent. Come the January Council Wakefield Labour Leader Denise Jeffery & Deputy Cllr Jack Hemingway will be facing their 4th Tory Group Leader in 18 months!

It’s unacceptable for a former MP to claim expenses after resigning for such a crime. I’ve written to IPSA calling for an investigation into this case and a review into the rules to make sure this can’t happen again.

Home Office says 50 Diptheria cases from Manston. Why did they fail to introduce full screening/vaccinations weeks ago? Why are they still not screening everyone they moved out of Manston? This is a chaotic failure. Where is the Home Secretary? What is she even for? /1

Today I voted for nurses not non-doms. The Labour Party will abolish non-dom tax status and instead use that money to train a new generation of nurses, midwives and doctors to treat patients on time again.

What a year 2022 has been! Life changing in so many ways, for both me and my family. The highlight of course was being elected to Parliament in June, and in doing so helping to deliver the first by-election victory for The Labour Party in over a decade. (and the back of Boris Johnson!)
