राष्ट्रिय जनगणना २०७८ अनुसार १० वर्ष वा सो भन्दा माथिको आर्थिक रुपले सक्रिय जनसंख्या मध्ये सबैभन्दा धेरै कृषि, वन र माछापालन क्षेत्रमा ५७.३ प्रतिशत जनसंख्या संलग्न छन्। यस्तै,थोक एवं खुद्रा व्यापार मोटरगाडी तथा मोटरसाइकल मर्मतका कार्यहरुमा १२.५ ,निर्माणमा ८.१ प्रतिशत संलग्न छन्।

नेपाल जीवनस्तर सर्वेक्षण चौथो २०७९/८० अनुसार मुलुकका घरपरिवार मध्ये ७६.८% ले विप्रेषण प्राप्त गरेको देखिन्छ। प्राप्त गरेको विप्रेषण ७२.४% दैनिक उपभोगमा,१५.८% ऋण तिर्न, ४.६ % शिक्षामा (स्वदेश), १.९% घरायसी दिगो सरसामान खरिदमा, १.९ % बचत र १.८% पूँजी निर्माणमा खर्च हुने गरेको छ।
